CRIMES AGAINST PERSONS UNIT
The Crimes Against Persons Unit investigates assaults and batteries, domestic violence, disorderly conduct, city ordinance violations involving noise and parties, homicides, suicides, suspicious deaths, robberies, extortions, kidnappings, physical elder abuse, weapons violations, adult and child sex crimes, physical/neglectful child abuse cases, annoying/lewd telephone calls, missing persons and cruelty to animals. GENERAL INVESTIGATIONS UNIT
The Property Crimes Unit investigates arsons, residential and commercial burglaries, malicious mischief, grand and petty thefts, auto theft, bicycle thefts and bomb threats and minor juvenile offenses, such as alcohol violations. ECONOMIC CRIMES UNIT (ECU)
The Economic Crimes Unit (ECU) investigates identity theft, major frauds, forgeries, financial elder abuse, thefts by credit card or checks, and thefts or burglaries where the only property taken is checks, credit cards or mail. The Bunco Forgery Unit includes the High Technology Investigation Detail which conducts computer forensics and other computer related investigations.
