Section 8 Vouchers - The Orange County Housing Authority administers the federal Section 8 housing assistance program in Huntington Beach. Participating Section 8 households receive a direct rent subsidy from the Housing Authority. Call the Housing Authority at (714) 765-4320 for more information or to place your name on the Section 8 waiting list.

HUD Assisted Projects - There is currently one apartment project in Huntington Beach that is subsidized directly by HUD to provide affordable housing for lower income households. Affordable Housing ~ Bond Properties - There are three apartment buildings in Huntington Beach that have agreements with the City to provide housing for lower-income households. Each has its own application and may have a waiting list.

Other Affordable Properties - The City of Huntington Beach and the Huntington Beach Redevelopment Agency have partnerships with many local property owners to provide affordable rental housing for lower-income households. Each property is owned and managed by the owner, not be the City. Each has its own eligiblity requirements and application process.
