A "Green" building is a structure that is designed, renovated, re-used or operated in a manner that enhances resource efficiency is considered a sustainable, or “green building”. These structures reduce water consumption, improve energy efficiency and lessen a building’s overall environmental impact. Both homeowners and builders can make both small and large types of improvements to property. The Huntington Beach Fire Department conducts free home fire safety inspections for seniors. You can also get a free smoke detector with a 10 year battery and carbon monoxide detector installed. This free service is provided by Project SHIP senior home inspection program volunteers. You can schedule an appointment online or call 714-374-1615.
