Now through January 9, our trash collectors will pick up Christmas trees and flattened cardboard boxes on the same day as your regular collection. (Due to high volume, this collection may happen one day late in some areas.)
To recycle trees and cardboard:
1. Remove all ornaments, hooks, light strings, tinsel and stand.
2. Place tree next to your trash containers on your trash day.
3. Do not block access to the containers and do not put your Christmas tree in your container.
4. There is a six-foot maximum height for trees – please cut taller trees into sections.
5. Flatten cardboard and place next to trees.
6. Artificial trees and flocked trees CANNOT be recycled. Carefully cut into smaller pieces for your trash container, or call for a bulk item pickup.
Multi-family, condo, and townhome residents with shared dumpsters should place trees to the side of the dumpsters, not in front or on top of the dumpster. Check with your property manager or HOA for other restrictions. After January 9, Christmas tree pickup must be scheduled as a bulky item pickup with Rainbow/Republic Services at 714-847-3581.
