Approximately 10 people die each day from unintentional drowning. Of those deaths, 2 are children under the age of 15. But drowning is preventable! The working committee of the Orange County Drowning Prevention Task Force in partnership with Stop Drowning Now and Supervisor Wagner is hosting the 2021 Water Safety Challenge which will teach children important water-safety skills like how to perform a safe water rescue, properly use a life vest as well as help parents learn their child’s strengths and weaknesses in and around bodies of water. Free of charge, the event will be on 5/22 at the Senior Center on 18041 Goldenwest.
