The 25th annual Surf City Marathon and Half Marathon returns this weekend. Huntington Beach residents and visitors can expect road closures and delays on Saturday along the Pacific Coast Highway and are advised to plan ahead.
Most road closures and detours will be in effect between the hours of 5:00 am and 2:30 pm on Saturday, September 11. The streets will reopen on a rolling basis as soon as the last participant has passed, and all course support materials have been removed. Event weekend will feature two days of running with a beach mile race on the sand on Friday, September 10 at 6pm. Race Day begins on Saturday at 6:25am with Challenged Athletes, the marathon, half-marathon and 5k.
