City Brings Major Updates to SANDS Recreation Registration System
posted on 03/01/2023.

The City of Huntington Beach has launched a major update to the SANDS recreation  registration website.

In 2022, the Community & Library Services Department underwent an extensive process to identify and select a new software provider to host and manage the City’s recreation programs and registration. As more systems move online, the City understands the need to have a registration website that is easy to navigate for both customers and staff alike. This update also brings enhanced features including:

•    Expanded search functionality to let you filter activities by location, date, age, interest, and availability
•    A mobile-friendly design
•    An easier checkout process for online payments
•    Online waivers signing and invoicing
•    Social media sharing
•    An overall more user-friendly registration experience

Spring registration begins Tuesday, March 7, at 8am. All customers will need to create and set up new accounts to register for spring activities and summer camps. While we strongly encourage customers to register for programs online, registration will also be available in-person at any Huntington Beach Community Center or City Hall. The City only accepts online and in-person registration.

The City is offering open office hours to those who need assistance creating an account and learning how to register for programs. The Computer Lab at the Senior Center in Central Park will be available the week of February 27 through March 3, where trained staff and volunteers can assist residents with account creation and questions on the following dates and times:

•    Monday, February 27–Thursday, March 2, from 8:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
•    Friday, March 3, from 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

The spring SANDS was sent to all Huntington Beach residents and is available at any HB Community Center and City Hall. You can also check out the digital version online.
