BUSINESS LICENSE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE U.S. OPEN OF SURFING

ATTENTION!!

ANY PERSON OR BUSINESS PLANNING ON MARKETING A PRODUCT OR SERVICE AT THE U.S. OPEN OF SURFING OR ANY OTHER SPECIAL EVENT IN HUNTINGTON BEACH

REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTING BUSINESS LICENSE APPLICATIONS FOR MARKETERS DURING SPECIAL EVENTS

Any person or business intending to market a product or service on foot by sampling, handing out items, or disseminating information via a flyer/handbill outside the footprint of a permitted special event, at a time that coincides with the event, must submit their completed business license application and full payment for this activity 30 DAYS PRIOR THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE EVENT per Huntington Beach Municipal Code section 5.50.110.

NO NEW BUSINESS LICENSE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE SPECIFIED CUT-OFF DATE.

NO EXCEPTIONS!

Additionally, no changes to an existing/previously issued business license for marketing will be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS!

BE AWARE!

Application Cut-off date for The 4th of July Celebration is Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 5 pm.

Application Cut-off date for U.S. Open of Surfing is Thursday, June 27th, 2019 at 5 pm.

IF YOU HAVE FAILED TO SUBMIT YOUR BUSINESS LICENSE APPLICATION BY THE CUT-OFF DATE, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MARKET YOUR PRODUCT OR BUSINESS!!

If the Police Department and/or Code Enforcement officers witness your activity and you are unable to produce a valid business license issued for an approved specific activity, you will be issued a citation with fines starting at $250.00. Citations can be issued every day you are out of compliance, running consecutively if applicable. The second citation fine amount is $500.00 and the third citation fine amount is $1000.00.

PLEASE BE AWARE that the SALE of any item on foot is strictly PROHIBITED per HBMC 5.50.170(f).

(If you are a vendor/marketer approved by an event organizer to be within their permitted event footprint, you are encompassed on the event organizer's blanket business license, therefore this requirement does not apply to you)

This policy is not applicable for persons or businesses in motor vehicles.
