Public Comments – the Public Works Commission welcomes public comments on all items on this agenda or of community interest.  Three minutes per person, time may not be donated to others.  Commission on this date can take no action on any item not on the agenda.  This is the time to address Commission regarding items of interest or agenda items other than public hearings.  Communications on agenda items will be scheduled such that public comments may be received as close to 5:00 p.m. as possible.

F. INFORMATION ITEMS

F-1.     Active Capital Project Report – An update on active capital projects is presented for the Commission’s information.  Project information, including description, location maps and funding sources can be found in the FY 2007/08 Capital Improvement Program notebook, or on the city’s website under Current Budget information--What’s New.  

F-2.     Upcoming City Council Study Sessions - The City Council conducts public Study Sessions on the evenings of City Council meetings, normally beginning at 4:00 p.m., in Room B-8.  A tentative listing of upcoming sessions is submitted for the Commission’s information. 

F-3.     Water Efficient Landscape Requirements update Required by the State of California - The State of California approved a revised State Water Ordinance per Assembly Bill No. 1881 that requires all agencies to adopt the State Ordinance or a similar one by January 1, 2010.  The proposed Ordinance will revise and update existing City of Huntington Beach Municipal Code Section 14.52, Water Efficient Landscape Requirements.

G. ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS

G-1.   Memo to the Charter Review Commission on Suggested Revisions to Charter Section 617 - Modifications were submitted by Commissioners and incorporated into the draft memo.  Final review and approval is requested.

Funding Source:  No funding is required.

Recommended Action:   Approve the draft memo for submittal to the Charter Review Commission.

Alternative Action(s):  Suggest alternative or additional language.
