Specific & Beach Events

The City of Huntington Beach is honored to be called home to a wide verity of special events each year ranging from international sporting events to community-based celebrations. Collectively, our events in Huntington Beach attract more than 1.25 million visitors annually.

Generally, any organized activity involving the use of, or having impact upon, public property including parks, beaches, parking lots and street areas in a manner that varies from its current land use, requires a permit. The Specific Event permit process is required of events that are large in scale and necessitate the involvement of more than one city department or division.  Download the Specific Event Permit Application.

If you are interested in producing an event in Huntington Beach, please contact the Specific Events Office for an initial review of your event and to learn more about the permitting process. Please review Municipal Code 13.54 regarding Specific Events.  Contact us:  [email protected].

Special Event permits are also required for any event at Pier Plaza or on the City beach.  The Specific Events Office issues permits for small events or weddings on the beach.  Download the Beach Special Event Application.

The Rental Office issues permits for small events in the parks and may be contacted at (714) 536-5486 or [email protected].

The Community Development Department issues permits for events on private property and may be contacted at (714) 536-5271.

The City Manager's Office issues permits for TV, movie, and commercial film shoots and may contact PIO at (714) 536-5577 or visit Film in Huntington Beach.

With warm weather, good surf, and crowded beaches, Huntington Beach is a magnet for corporate-sponsored events year-round.
