Fire Operations
The primary role of the Fire Operations Division is to support the Huntington Beach Fire Department mission statement of, “The Huntington Beach Fire Department is dedicated to providing the highest quality fire, marine safety and emergency medical services to protect our community.” To accomplish this, the Fire Operations Division consists of:

131 Safety Personnel

30 Ambulance Operators

Eight Paramedic Engine Companies

Three Reserve Paramedic Engine Companies

Two Truck Companies

One Reserve Truck Company

Five Fire Department Ambulances

Three Reserve Fire Department Ambulances

One Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Unit with light air capabilities

One Fire Command Vehicle

One Emergency Decontamination Unit

One Hazardous Materials Response Unit

The Central Net Fire Training Center which serves the cities of Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach
- One Reserve Command Vehicles
- A Fire Shop in the Citywide Fleet Services Division to support and repair all fire apparatus and staff vehicles

Response Time Standards:
The Growth Management Element of the City General Plan specifies the following times for fire/rescue/emergency medical response arrival times:

The first engine company within five minutes 80 percent of the time.

The first ladder company within ten minutes 90 percent of the time and, in all cases, within fifteen minutes.
-
The first paramedic resource within five minutes 80 percent of the time and, in all cases, within ten minutes.
This Division prides itself in maintaining the high customer service ethic that is characteristic of the Huntington Beach Fire Department.
