The Huntington Beach Police Department is proud to offer the Citizens Academy. This program is designed to increase the understanding of the Police Department. The academy is offered in the spring and fall each year, and runs 11 consecutive Wednesday evenings from 6 pm to 9 pm.
Students will learn "hands on" from department personnel who are experts in the areas of Patrol and Traffic Operations, Community Oriented Policing, Narcotics, Vice, Gangs, SWAT, K-9, Aero Operations and other fields.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to staff scheduling conflicts, we will not be holding our Spring 2019 class. We will still accept applications on a continuous basis for our Fall 2019 class which will start in August/September 2019. We will notify applicants of the specific dates as soon as possible.
Applicants must either be a Huntington Beach resident or work in the City of Huntington Beach, and be 18 years or older. If interested please fill out the Citizens Academy application. Spanish application also available to download. For more information, contact Angela Bennett at (714) 375-5009 or [email protected]
