Pee Wee & Junior Soccer - Instructional

Pee Wee Soccer is a non-competitive introduction to soccer. Participants will learn soccer techniques, basic rules of the game, play scrimmages and to have fun while playing sports. Participants will not only learn to play soccer but will also strengthen social skills by interacting with their coaches and teammates. All players will be placed on a team and will receive a HB recreation jersey. Shin guards will be provided.

Junior League Soccer is a semi-competitive introduction to soccer. Participants will learn soccer techniques, basic rules of the game and the importance of sportsmanship. Participants will not only learn to play soccer but will also strengthen social skills by interacting with their coaches and teammates. The first three weeks will consist of an introduction to the basic skills and rules of the game. Weeks 4 through 6 will consist of actual games, allowing the players to demonstrate their abilities and teamwork. All players will be placed on a team and will receive a HB recreation jersey. Shin guards will be provided.

Boys and Girls Ages:
Pee Wee: 3 - 5 years
Junior: 6 - 8 years / 1st or 2nd grades

League Site: Huntington Central Park Sports Complex

Season Length: 6 Weeks

Pee Wee T-Ball & Junior Baseball / Softball - Instructional

Pee Wee T-Ball is a non-competitive introduction to T-Ball for youth between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. Participants will learn fundamental T-Ball techniques, basic rules of the game and to have fun while playing sports. Participants will not only learn how to play T-Ball but will also strengthen social skills by interacting with their coaches and teammates. All players will be placed on a team and receive a HB recreation team jersey. Leagues have limited availability. 

Junior Baseball / Softball is a semi-competitive introduction to baseball and softball for youth between the ages of 6 and 8 years old. Participants will learn fundamental baseball and softball techniques, basic rules of the game and to have fun while playing sports. Participants will not only learn how to play baseball and softball but will also strengthen social skills by interacting with their coaches and teammates. All players will be placed on a team and receive a HB recreation team jersey.  The first three weeks will consist of game based drills and exercises. Weeks four through six will consist of actual games. Leagues have limited availability.

Boys and Girls Ages: 3 - 8 years

League Sites: Murdy Community Center and Edison Community Center

Season Length: 4 weeks, twice a week

Youth Coed Basketball - Competitive

Youth Coed Basketball Program provides a fun and competitive league in an instructional environment where the youth of the community can enjoy sports. If you are interested in playing basketball, you may sign up at the City Gym, Murdy or Edison Community Centers. Every participant will receive a team shirt. All games will be played on Saturday. Evaluations will be held at the City Gym and Pool.

Ages: 3rd - 8th grades

Youth Coed Indoor Volleyball - Competitive

Youth Coed Indoor Program is a competitive league with and emphasis on having fun and learning the game of volleyball. Participants will be placed on teams, which includes 2 weeks of evaluations, a practice game, 6-league games and a citywide championship tournament. All participants will receive a HB recreation jersey and league awards.

Ages: 5th - 8th grades

Season Length: 10 weeks
