Surf City Highlights - August 2020 - It’s William “Bill” Kull’s 100th Birthday at Lake Park

To keep with tradition, and continue being the longest-running 4th of July Parade west of the Mississippi, this year’s parade came to the residents in the form of two modified parades that encompassed most of the City, in two different routes, caravan style.

This class began before COVID-19, but now the 9 month program graduates during COVID-19, and held a distancing get together at the beautiful Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel. HB Business News contributed to this Highlight.

The hearts grow large at Colette’s, not to take in, usually, but to give out to those that are in need. Volunteers of Colette’s, OC Food Bank and others filled the trunks and back seats of cars with meals as over 80 vehicles came through the Colette’s facility in Huntington Beach.

A World War II hero, a retired fire fighter, and a longtime American Legion member, and Bill Kull is only 100-years young and still going strong! A salute from the HB Fire Department, Proclamations from Congressman’s Rouda’s office and HB Mayor, Lyn Semeta, reads off Bill’s accomplishments as members of his American Legion look on. The event culminated in singing Bill Happy Birthday.
